Job Description
Join A Winning Team! Sunrise Painting, a highly successful and full service Commercial and Residential painting and decorating business, located in Mountain View California, is searching for an eager and hardworking crew leader to help expand their production team.
Basic Function: to supervise and efficiently carry out painting and paint related duties in a professional and workmanlike manner. Participate in all activities related to the accomplishment of specific jobs. Crew Leaders paint as needed.
Organizational Relationships: Reports to Field Supervisor & general manager.
Supervises – Lead painters, painters, apprentices and trainees.
Scope of Responsibility: as delegated by the field supervisor. Efficiently carry out painting and paint related duties in a professional and workmanlike manner. Insure that all duties are carried out properly and within the timeframe prescribed by the job sheets and supervisor.
Specialized Knowledge & Experience: Must have clear understanding of job-site safety. Must posses knowledge of products, have the ability to document daily activities, and also be able to efficiently manage painters and all task involved with completing jobs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Arrange pre-job site visit with customer prior to start of job. Obtain deposit and signed contract if not already received. It may be necessary to ask for progress payments during the course of a large job. Get all color samples and come up with a ‘game plan’ to finish a job on time. It is also the Crew Leader’s responsibility to make sure there is a AHP sign posted at the site.
Monitor employee attendance, appearance, language, and proper use of equipment. Complete necessary paperwork and performance level evaluations.
It is the Crew Leader’s responsibility to see that all new hires are trained according to Arthur Hackert Paintings Standards and Procedures and attend all Crew Leader’s meetings, safety meetings and general meetings.
Keep an accurate account of hours for each employee working on his particular job as well as the work performed, making sure that the hours are entered each evening.
MSDS Books are to be maintained and present in every van, along with fire extinguishers and first aid kits.
To see that company trucks are cleaned and maintained regularly.
To order sufficient material for the job with office approval.
Make sure that a ‘Project Communication Log’ is present at the job-site and that the customer is aware of it. Deal with customers questions and concerns on the job site daily. Report concerns and/or questions to field supervisor or general manager immediately.
It is the Crew Leader’s responsibility during the course of the job to sell additional work orders and have the customers sign off on an ‘Additional Work Order Form’ which must be returned to the office to be put in the file. It is the foreman’s responsibility to collect monies due for AWO’s at the time of the customer signing.
It is the Crew Leader’s responsibility to do a final walk through with the customer, explain the job completion packet, have a Quality Assurance form signed, collect final payment in full on the last day of the job and receive ‘A’s’.
