Join the worldwide Wireless LAN leaders We are looking for an energetic, professional Hardware Applications Engineer based in Sunnyvale, CA to work in the fast:growing 802.11 wireless LAN technology segment. Youll be working directly with industry:leading customers throughout the world to integrate Broadcom's WLAN chipsets into their products such as smart phones, tablets, PC and home networks, HDTV adapters and more. Imagine seeing these products on store shelves and knowing that you were a key contributor in making them successful
The duties of this position are:
- Provide Applications Engineering support for worldwide customers designing:in the WLAN section of their smartphones, tablets and other embedded products
- Review and critique schematics and layouts of customers' board designs
- Test, characterize and optimize the WLAN performance on customers' board designs
- Resolve all hardware problems to ensure customer's product performance is best:in:class
- Provide applications support for WLAN and related wireless technologies including WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS, FM and cellular
- Design customer:specific application boards
- Work with internal chip, systems and software engineering to debug and verify new chips and reference boards
- Write Application Notes and Datasheets
- Train FAEs in RF and WLAN applications

Job Requirements
- Typically requires a BSEE with 9+ years of relevant experience or an MSEE with 6+ years of relevant experience or a PhD and 3+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in RF board design, test, characterization and debug up to at least 6GHz
- Experience in RF and WLAN system performance testing, including use of network analyzer, VSA etc.
- Experience with schematic capture, layout and related CAD tools for RF board designs
- Ability to design and execute engineering experiments in RF and embedded systems
- Strong team:player and practical hands:on problem solver
- Diplomatic and responsive attitude towards customers under all circumstances
- Good English verbal and written communication skills
