Job Description
Sr. Storage System Design Engineer
The successful engineer/analyst for this position will be using his knowledge and experience to define and refine the features, functions and capabilities for SSD and HOD technologies as they are required to meet and integrate into modern and future enterprise, cloud and data center environments for storage, server, big data, and analytics applications. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the definition, directions and influence for Toshibas' future storage technology initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of design innovations and architecture for storage solutions
•Identify and evaluate Innovative and developing trends storage systems and design that incorporate, software solutions in DAS, NAS, SAN
•Converged Compute, HPC and storage virtualization design
•Think outside-the-box to incubate these solutions, their emergent technologies and evaluate them for commercial viability
•Ability to interact with customers and assess requirements and articulate potential designs as solutions
•Provide expert technical guidance for developments for integration or modification of SSD and HOD components and technology
Required Experience:
Experience should include: strategy, initiatives, storage platform trends and applications , and leveraging overall technical knowledge across multiple industries. ALSO: Storage based file systems, storage management applications , distributed file systems, replication, deduplication, clustering, Virtual Servers, VOi, etc.
Should Have:
•Expert level knowledge of storage architectures, SAN/NAS/DAS/iSCS I
•5+ years of related experience •Ability to engineer, architect, design - Our team stays technical, so you must still have your functional skills
•Proven track record of working with and influencing disparate organizations to accomplish goals
•Ability to see and present "the big picture" and offer solutions to make it better
•Must be effective in working both independently and in a team setting
•Strong listening and question based analysis skills
•Ability to uncover business challenges and develop custom solutions to solve those challenges
