CHOIR AUDITIONS - Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale in San Jose, California For Sale

Come join Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale and celebrate our 25th anniversary with us! We are now holding auditions in all voice parts for the season's spring and summer programs.
Our exciting spring-summer season features three concerts: Vaughan Williams' cantata Dona Nobis Pacem and his Five Mystical Songs (in February), one of the best known works of the Western classical repertoire, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony (in March-April), and an exciting Silver Jubilee concert celebrating Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale's past, present, and future (in June). Centerpiece of this concert will be an original commission work by British composer Will Todd as well as his powerful jazz composition Mass in Blue. For this special occasion, Chorale will be joined on stage by none other than the composer himself! The anniversary concert concludes with Chorale members and alumni singing a selection of favorites from a repertoire built over the quarter of a century!

At the audition, interested singers should be prepared to sing a solo piece and demonstrate vocal training, proficient sight-singing skills, comfort singing in foreign languages, and excellent musicianship.
Once accepted, members are expected to commit to rehearsal schedules and concert engagements. Members are also responsible for an annual member fee and their own concert attire. Vocal coaching is available to all singers.
Weekly rehearsals are held on Tuesdays, 7-9:45 pm, at Campbell Seventh Day Adventist Church, 600 W Campbell Ave., Campbell.
The first rehearsal after the holiday break is on January 10.
