Job Description
Do you have piles of 'lessons-learned' stacking up? Want to help people by sharing your story? We're looking for personable bill and account collectors with 5+ years of experience to join our team on a consultancy basis. Selected candidates will advise new and soon-to-be bill and account collectors over the phone - answering career-based questions and helping them get ahead.
This is a consulting role with a time commitment of 1-4 hours per month (varies on the amount of requests you get). Set your own rate and schedule your own calls.
Candidates must have excellent communication skills as you'll be sharing insights about the job, including what it's like to:
Find consumers and businesses who have overdue bills
Track down consumers who have an out-of-date address by using the Internet, post office, credit bureaus, or neighbors, a process called skip tracing
Inform debtors that they have an overdue bill and try to negotiate a payment
Go over the terms of sale or contract with the debtor, when necessary
Learn the reasons for the overdue bills, which can help with the negotiations
Offer credit advice or refer a consumer to a debt counselor, when appropriate
Select candidates will be invited to become a Wisewords Advisor where you'll coach new bill and account collectors be successful in the industry. Our clientele are students, recent grads and people changing careers. Specific responsibilities include:
Reply to call requests promptly
Chat with people over the phone to answer their questions about the industry
Answer career-based questions
Share lessons learned and mistakes made
Bounce ideas off of one another
Exchange views
Provide career-based insights and suggestions
