Location: San Jose, CA
The Business Entity
Cisco is funding a small, agile, product development team to innovate and build a new product offering in the Mobility space. The team will initially operate in an agile development model to rapidly bring a new product offering to market, reacting very quickly to initial customer feedback and market needs. Over time as customer adoption increases, the product line will be further integrated into the Cisco Mobility product line and organization.
The DevOps/Automation Product Owner for the Nepehlo team will focus on defining the product roadmap and driving an execution plan for the Cisco Ultra Services Platform (USP) product Ultra Automation Services (UAS) components. This high performing individual will focus on collecting requirements from account teams and customers, definition and prioritization of product features, definition of the UAS roadmap, and presentation of the product features and capabilities to internal business units and external customers and partners. This position will require significant interactions and interlocks with product management, product marketing, engineering, account teams, and external customers.
Role and Responsibilities
This DevOps/Automation Product Owner will:
* Interface with account teams and customers to collect requirements for the UAS components of the Cisco Ultra Services Platform
* Prepare feature lists of software components to drive automation and operational simplicity of the product for a target set of DevOps automation engineers to develop
* Determine which focus areas of the product require additional capabilities to remain competitive and drive innovation over competing solutions
* Engage with the Network Function Virtualization product teams and mobility sales overlay teams to help drive the future direction of the Cisco UAS solution
* Work with product management and account teams define high:level release roadmaps of the UAS features and supporting NFVI environments
* Create customer facing presentations and slide decks that are presented to internal Cisco account teams and at customer engagements
* Interface with program management and engineering teams to drive product requirements into requirements databases via an agile driven workflow
Qualifications
Minimum
* Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or other technical or scientific discipline
* 5 or more years related experience in a technical role or product management function
* Experience with cloud computing microservice, container, and virtualized hypervisor techonlogies
* Experience with high level DevOps scripts for private and public cloud environments
* Experience with new product introduction and produce development lifecycle

* MBA or Masters degree in a technical or scientific discipline
* Familiarity with ETSI Network Function Virtualization Standards
* Prior involvement in an agile development process for product specification and development
* Experience with Rally or other product requirements management tools
Skills
* Ability to engage and collaborate with a wide variety of product, account, and engineering teams
* Strong written and oral communications skills
* Demonstrated ability to capture high level product requirements and ability to translate product requirements to internal technical teams
