Verizon-OnCue’s Centralized QA group is looking for a QA Engineer to join a highly talented group of people working on a cutting edge cloud based TV platform.
Responsibilities:
This position is within Verizon-OnCue’s Centralized QA group.
Design/Implement the E2E performance framework and write performance tests for various E2E user flows.
Identify real-world E2E OTT Video use cases & design/create performance test lab simulations. The E2E flows cover a large set of areas including, but, not limited to, Set Top Box boot up, Video On-Demand purchase & playback, web account creation & management, etc.
Design, develop & execute test cases to evaluate system performance for existing & new features.
Responsible for creating and executing performance evaluation and improvement/remediation plans for various web applications.
Optimize test cycle efficiency & add performance test automation into the continuous delivery pipeline.
Work with multiple stakeholders from product, development, dev-ops & QA teams to identify performance requirements & orchestrate validation of these requirements.
Qualifications
At least 6 year’s experience working on performance testing and engineering of large scale web applications.
At least 4 years of experience on any load testing tool for load generation and profiling (JMeter, HP Performance Center etc.).
Hands-on experience with performance monitoring tools such as Foglight, New Relic etc.
Hands-on experience with performance and load testing JVM based applications on the cloud.
Deep knowledge of Java (or equivalent) programming language and design patterns from a performance point of view.
Deep understanding of cloud based RESTful Web Services.
Experience in profiling code for performance issues.
Experience in Unix.
Strong written, oral & presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in developing/using custom performance frameworks.
Knowledge of web protocols, networking and systems.
Experience in performance testing applications running on Android.
Familiarity with performance and load testing on the Amazon EC2 Cloud would be a plus.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably, in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Master’s degree is preferred.
