The FlashSoft team at SanDisk Enterprise Storage Solutions is seeking a Software Technical Support Engineer (TSE) for its Milpitas, CA corporate office, reporting to the Senior Manager of Software Support. The TSE is responsible for providing complete support services to enterprise customers, to resolve cases, investigate problems, interact and follow:up directly with customer. The Software Technical Support Engineer (TSE) interacts directly with team members in sales, development and marketing.
The Software Technical Support Engineer (TSE) functions as a member of the support organization to provide technical support via phone, e:mail and web for SanDisk FlashSoft partners and customers. The TSE must have strong fault isolation and root:cause analysis skills required to diagnose and solve complex technical issues. The Software Technical Support Engineer (TSE) brings technical expertise and responsiveness to every customer interaction, from the simplest inquiry to the most vexing technical problem. The individual must develop and maintain extensive knowledge of a large range of technical and operational issues. The individual should foster cross functional interaction and collaboration between support team members and sales support, sales engineering, product management, product marketing and product development. Additionally, the software support engineer should contribute extensively to the software knowledge base, and assist in keeping the knowledge base material current. The ideal candidate brings creativity, ownership, and a relentless focus on business impact to the position.
This position requires a BS/BA degree or equivalent with 5 or more years of experience supporting enterprise storage software products for large global customers. Candidates must have a proven track record of exceptional customer commitment and very strong knowledge about enterprise storage, server architecture, enterprise software and virtualization. A substantial understanding of Windows Server, Linux and VMware technologies is required. This position is ideal for a software professional with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a fast:paced, high:performing, entrepreneurial culture. The ideal candidate must be willing to accept the unpredictable nature of daily work in a rapidly growing business. At the same time, the candidate must be able to manage urgent issues with exemplary professionalism. Ideally, the individual has a proven desire to work as a team member, and the ability to work effectively cross:functionally. Knowledge of standard case management and bug tracking tools and best practices is required. This position may involve alternative work hours including nights, weekends and company holidays.
